Allah is Greater!Posted: August 23, 2012
The more you interact with people and society, the quicker you learn how far people will go to attain this world. People will compete with you to great lengths to get their piece of this world and will openly brag about the race. You’ll have elbows tossed to your face by the packed crowd chasing their desires. Allah says in Surat Mariam, “Have you seen him who disbelieved in Our verses and (yet) says: ‘I shall certainly be given wealth and children.” It’s probably one of the most dangerous desires; the desire of wealth. Beware not to pollute your heart when pursuing your livelihood. It is true that we must go out in this world to earn a living but we must also not deviate from the principles of the Qur’an which we’ve been taught. The people of this world will try to find as many accomplices as they can, and it could be you. In an authentic hadith found in Al-Tirmidhi, The Prophet (salah allahu ‘alayhi wa salam) gave a parable about greed: “Two hungry wolves, if let loose amongst a flock of sheep, cause less harm than a man’s eagerness to increase his money and his prestige.” You’ll come across people who are willing to hurt, backbite, slander, and cheat for one purpose: gain. Some will even resolve to theft and murder! Then I remembered the mercy of our religion and read the words of our beloved Prophet (salah allahu ‘alayhi wa salam): “Keep your evil away from the people and that will be a charitable act from yourself upon yourself.” [Muslim]
So, I speak to you whom the world has taken prisoner. Do you accept a life of humiliation? Then wake up to the light of the Qur’an and the guidance of the Sunnah, and change by accepting your faith. Immediately abandon harming others and pursuing this world in an evil manner – for you will not get except what’s written for you even if you were to destroy everything in front of you to get it. Between you and your pursuits is Allah and..
Allah is Greater. Allah is Greater!
