Seeing all the beautiful pictures of Harram and the Ka’bah these days, I have attached here a recitation of Shaikh Salih Abu Talib. For those who have visited Makkah, his voice should be familiar to you. I find his recitation most soothing, perhaps it has something to do with the fond memories we have of the Holly Land. May Allah bless all our brothers and sisters on their way to Hajj and accept their deeds…
When was the last time you listened to the Qur’an and really pondered it? Here is a short recitation that you will enjoy listening to, Insha’Allah. Spend just 5 minutes tonight with it…may Allah bless you.
Most of the time, we recite Surat Al-Fatiha so hurriedly in our prayer it as though we’re all about to be chased by a lion. Remember that this is the only Surah in which Allah has commanded us to read in every prayer and this tells us how important this Surah is. We should take our time reciting it and contemplate its meaning thoroughly.
Allah says: I have divided the salah between Me and my slave into 2 parts. And for my slave will be what he asks.
When my servant says alhamdulillahi rabbil alamin Allah says in response to that my servant has praised me.
When my servant arrahmanir rahim Allah says in response my servant has extolled (exalted) me.
When my servant says maliki yomiddin Allah says my servant has magnified me.
When my servant says iyyakanabudu waiyyaka nastain Allah says this is between Me and my servant and for my servant is what he asks.
And for the rest of the ayaat Allah says this is between Me and my servant and for my servant is what he asks.
[Reported by Muslim, Malik, Al-Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, An-Nasa’i, Ibn Majah]
Every Thursday, we will post a selected recitation of the Qur’an. We hope that we can all take time from our busy schedules to listen and ponder the words of Allah. The following is Shaikh Fahad Al-Kandari from Kuwait. He is much younger here but the recitation is amazing, Tabarak Allah.
My gift to everyone on this Thursday night. Please listen to it before you go to bed and contemplate the words of Allah. Let it be just you and the Qur’an as it is the best cure for the heart. It is also recited beautifully, Masha’Allah…
“Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children – like the example of a rain whose [resulting] plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes [scattered] debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion.” [Surat Al-Hadid, 20]
Contemplate these verses from Surat Al-Hadid while its beautifully recited by Sa’ad Al-Ghamdi…
A very emotional recitation by Shaikh Idris Abkar from surat Al-Furqan (verses 20-34).
