بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ
“In the Name of Allah, I have placed my trust in Allah, there is no might and no power except by Allah.”
In a hadith narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, the Prophet (salah allahu ‘alayhi wa salam) stated that if a person recites the above du’a and departs then there is an (unseen) proclamation that his need will be fulfilled and that he will be protected from any harm or injury. On hearing this dua, the Satan goes away from the place and refrains from troubling the reciting person.
Don’t forget to say it every time you leave your house and teach it to your loved ones!
In addition to taking all the proper means of nurturing, guiding, and disciplining our children to love Allah and perform prayer, we shouldn’t forget the most effective tool: du’a!
Here is a du’a from the Qur’an: “My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.” [14:40]
Amidst our rush to ask Allah for our needs and complain to Him our problems, we forget to ask for the most fundamental need: to be granted Paradise and be saved from Hell-Fire.
The Prophet (saw) said to a person, “What do you say in prayer?” He replied, “I first recite tashahhud and then I say: O Allah, I ask Thee for Paradise, and I seek refuge in Thee from Hell-Fire, but I do not understand your sound and the sound of Mu’adh (what you say or he says in prayer).” The Prophet (saw) said: “We too go around it (paradise and Hell-fire).” [Abu Dawud]
Do you know what was more dear to the Prophet (saw) than the entire world in which the sun set upon? No, it wasn’t money nor position, wife nor children, car nor house..
So, why don’t we make it the most endeared thing to our hearts us as well?!
